(OSV News) – The week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, Holy Week, is the most sacred time of year. During this special time, we enter into the passion of Christ – his crucifixion, death and resurrection – through liturgical celebration and personal conversion. While the season of Lent is a very important time in the Church, it is helpful to remember that our Lenten practices (prayer, fasting and almsgiving) are meant as preparation for the three days of the Triduum.
Sister Jeanne spent 40 years of her religious life teaching in grades one through four in Barton, Vermont; Nasonville, Rhode Island; Greenville, New Hampshire; and Lowell, Dracut, Northbridge, and Millbury. In 1967, she went to Philadelphia to become a certified Montessori Teacher. She then opened a Montessori School in Petersham, and another school in Millbury in 1971. Twenty years of dedicated service evolved.

Last year, the fish fry served 928 meals, about 100 more than the year before. This year, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, that number could surpass 1,000. The fish fry will offer a fish and chips dinner for $10 through Wednesday night at stmarysparish.org/fish-fry or $15 at the door, the same prices they have been for many years.
