The Worcester Catholic Men’s Conference is pleased to announce the special appearance of apologetics author and long time EWTN Catholic Radio Network host John Martignoni, who will be speaking at the morning session of the 25th annual Men’s Conference on Saturday, March 21, at the DCU Convention Center in Worcester.
The title of his presentation is “Does God Want Everyone to be Catholic?”
“John Martignoni was born Catholic, but he never learned the faith growing up,” according to Todd D. Jarvis of the conference planning committee.
“Doesn’t that sound familiar? Many of us were not properly catechized in the watered-down Church of decades past. We are grateful to have someone with the stature of John Martignoni here to share his immense knowledge of the faith.”
John is the founder and president of the Bible Christian Society, an apologetics and evangelization apostolate that reaches hundreds of thousands of people each year throughout the world; he was the long serving host of EWTN radio’s “Open Line” program, where he demonstrated his extensive knowledge of Catholicism. He is the author of several books on apologetics, and produces an e-newsletter, titled, “Apologetics for the Masses.”
In addition to Mr. Martignoni, this year’s conference will also feature radio icon Kevin Matthews, whose life story is being told in the recently released motion picture “Broken Mary”; Father Joseph Freedy, a former Division One starting quarterback, who will speak on bringing your loved ones back to the Church; Father Peter Jae Choi, of Toronto, Canada, who will deliver a personal talk regarding familial relationships; and Father Frederick D. Fraini, pastor of North American Martyrs Parish in Auburn, will prepare attendees for reconciliation with, “The Greatest Gift We Shall Ever Receive, is the One We don’t Deserve.”
The day will also feature an all-day adoration chapel; more than 60 priests will be on hand at midday for those who want to take part in the sacrament of reconciliation; in addition to morning rosary, a special group rosary will be prayed in the afternoon led by Kevin Matthews.
More than 50 vendors will be present, the conference will also feature traditional Catholic music by professional musician/pianist, David Twiss, who has performed with international stars of the music and entertainment world. The master of ceremonies will be Jim Polito from iHeartRadio.
The day will conclude with a 4 p.m. Mass celebrated by Bishop McManus.
