WORCESTER – Visitation House held its annual dinner April 18 at the College of the Holy Cross. This largest fundraiser of the local Catholic home for pregnant women in need and their babies, which takes no government funding, drew 310 people and raised $110,000 of the $120,000 goal, according to Rebecca Urban, executive director.
The evening was themed “The House that Ruth built,” in honor of Servant of God Ruth V.K. Pakaluk, a pro-life activist, wife and mother from St. Paul Cathedral, who wanted a place like Visitation House. Others pursued that dream after her death in 1998. There was a panel about her and her potential canonization, stories of former residents and a former board member, prayers, an award, and recognitions. Photos by Garrett Mann and Tanya Connor | CFP
