Bishop McManus ordained seven men ages 27 to 43 to the priesthood Saturday at St. Paul Cathedral, 15 Chatham St., Worcester.
Deacons James J. Boulette, Michael D. Hoye and Derek A. Mobilio grew up in the Diocese of Worcester. Deacons Julio R. Granados and Juan D. Parra came here from Colombia, and Deacons Cleber de Paula and Thiago R. Ibiapina from Brazil, to be priests for the Worcester Diocese.
The new priests blessed Bishop McManus and people who requested it. .
• Father J. Boulette, 43, son of Richard H. and Doris L. (Bilodeau) Boulette, was born in Worcester. His home parish is St. Anthony of Padua in Fitchburg.
He attended Quinsigamond Community College, Curry College and Assumption University, earning his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Assumption in 2018.
From 2015-2018 he received formation at Holy Name of Jesus House of Studies, and last month received his master’s of divinity from Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston.
Following ordination, he will be associate pastor of St. Ann Parish, North Oxford, and St. Roch Parish, Oxford.

Father Cleber de Paula, 40, son of Sebastião Rodrigues de Paula and Maria das Graças de Paula, was born in Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
He graduated from Escola Estadual Nilza Luzia de Souza Butta in 1999. He received a degree in philosophy in 2004 from Faculdade São Luís in Brusque, Santa Catarina, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2017 from Faculdade Única in Ipatinga.
He was in formation in Brazil with the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from 2002-2005 and the Missionaries of St. Charles (Scalabrinians) from 2010-2014, with whom he studied theology for a year in Bogotá, Colombia.
He worked as a roll grinding machine operator at a steel mill called Usiminas, a salesperson at St. John Paul II Catholic Bookstore, and an administrative supervisor at a party equipment rental place called Toninho Locações, all in Ipatinga.
He came to study for the priesthood for the Worcester Diocese in 2017 and last month received his bachelor’s degree in sacred theology and master’s of divinity degree from St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore.
Following ordination, he will serve as associate pastor of Holy Family and St. Stephen parishes, Worcester.

Father Julio R. Granados, 29, son of Hidalgo A. Granados and Nelly Alvarado, was born in Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia.
He graduated from Institucion Educativa Distrital Pozos Colorados high school in 2009. In Antioquia, he received formation at Seminario Siervos del Espiritu Santo and studied at Seminario Nacional Cristo Sacerdote in La Ceja and Universidad Catolica de Oriente in Rionegro.
He was a philosophy and religious education teacher and led the pastoral program at a public school in Remolino, Magdalena, Colombia.
He came to study for the priesthood for the Worcester Diocese in 2017. He received his bachelor’s degree in sacred theology and master’s of divinity degree last month from St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore..
Following ordination, he will be associate pastor of St. John, Guardian of Our Lady Parish.

Father Michael D. Hoye, 28, the youngest of seven children of David and Joan (Lees) Hoye, was born in Worcester. His home parish is St. Mark in Sutton.
He attended Assumption Elementary School in Millbury, and graduated from Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School in Worcester in 2012. At Assumption University he studied philosophy and theology, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2016. He studied at Theological College at The Catholic University of America, then completed his studies in Rome at the Pontifical North American College and the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, where he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in sacred theology. He is to return there in September to complete his licentiate in sacred theology, with a specialization in dogmatic theology.
Following ordination, he will serve as temporary associate pastor, St. Mary, Uxbridge.

Father Thiago R. Ibiapina, 28, son of Raimundo Nonato Ibiapina and Maria Alzenir Rodrigues DeOliveira, was born in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil, where his home parish was Holy Trinity in Fortaleza. In 2010 he received his high school diploma from Liceu Domingos Brasileiro in Fortaleza.
From 2010-2015 he was a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Fortaleza. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Faculdade Catolica de Fortaleza in 2015 and his licentiate in philosophy from Faculdade Euclides da Cunha in 2020. He also did special studies about Edith Stein at Federal University of Ceará and the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo, from which he received a certificate in 2020.
In 2016 he came to study for the priesthood for the Worcester Diocese. Last month he received his bachelor’s degree in sacred theology and master’s of divinity degree at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore.
Following ordination, he will be associate pastor of Annunciation Parish, Gardner.

Father Derek A. Mobilio, 32, son of Anthony and Michelle (Robidoux) Mobilio, was born in Worcester. His home parish is St. Francis of Assisi in Barre.
He attended Our Lady of the Angels Elementary School and, in 2008, graduated from St. Peter-Marian Central Catholic High School, both in Worcester. He earned his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and meteorology from State University of New York at Oswego in 2012, his master’s degree in statistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014, and his master’s of education degree from Providence College in 2016.
He taught mathematics and religion at St. Mary’s High School in Worcester from 2014-2016, then entered St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, where he received his bachelor of sacred theology degree..
Following ordination, he will serve as associate pastor, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Grafton.

Father Juan D. Parra, 27, son of Jaime de Jesus Parra Sanchez and Luz Elena Rave Rendon was born in Angelopolis, Antioquia, Colombia. His home parish there is Santo Angeles Custodios.
He graduated from Institucion Educativa San Jose in 2010, and attended Seminario Mayor de la Santa Cruz and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, from which he received a philosophy degree in 2014.
In 2017 he came to study for the priesthood for the Worcester Diocese. In 2019 he began studies at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, where he received his bachelor’s degree in sacred theology and master’s of divinity degree last month.
Following ordination, he will be associate pastor of St. Paul Cathedral Parish, Worcester.
