NORTHBRIDGE – Barbara E. (Greene) Lavallee, 88, of Emond Street, died Monday, Sept. 15 at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Normand R. Lavallee of Northbridge, who died in 2008. She is survived by her son, Rev. Michael N. Lavallee, pastor of St. Peter Parish in Northbridge; her brother, John Greene of Douglas; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Greene and Richard Greene; and a sister, Catherine Turiano.
She was born in Uxbridge on Aug. 5, 1937, daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Tracy) Greene, and lived in Uxbridge before moving to Northbridge in the 1960s. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School.
Mrs. Lavallee worked for the former State Mutual Life Insurance Company, currently Hanover Insurance, in Worcester for several years. Previously, she worked at R.H. Brown Sheet Metal in Northbridge as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Lavallee focused her time on her family. She stayed home to raise her son, enjoyed family gatherings, and local trips with her husband and family members. She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Northbridge and worked coordinating the annual the St. Peter Parish Bazaar with her husband for many years.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22 at St. Peter Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Whitinsville. Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 21 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Peter Church in Northbridge.
