The 12th annual Celebrate Priesthood! Taste of the Diocese Gala, to thank priests and raise money for their retirement needs, took place on Oct. 30 at St. Paul Jr./Sr. High School in Worcester.
At the gala, Bishop McManus announced that in the past 12 years, a total of more than $2 million has been raised for priests' retirement. This year $350,000 was raised – the most of any subsequent year – with about 1,800 gifts of support.
Guests enjoyed food and drinks provided by parishes, local restaurants and vendors including: Atlas Distributing, Basil & Spice Restaurant, Bay State Brewery, Brilla Coffee, Garden Fresh Deli & Catering, Jars Café & Bakery, Kyoto Bar and Grill, Polar Corporation Beverages, Rudi & Sons Wine Importers, and Sadie’s Sweet Shop, as well as, African Ministry, Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Worcester, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Worcester, St. Andrew Bobola Parish in Dudley, St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Fitchburg, St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster, St. Joan of Arc Parish in Worcester, St. Joseph and St. Stephen Parish, in Worcester, St. Joseph Parish in Fitchburg, and St. Paul Cathedral in Worcester.
